How Mrunal Thakur spun a beautiful style story for Sita Ramam promotions

At the outset, this Marathi mulgi has always been a delight. She has profiled a resume that is just so strong that it also underlines her versatility. But experimenting amply is just what she does. On the fashion front, Mrunal has carefully created a fine fashion arsenal and believes in experimenting amply with varied fashion stylists. Mrunal was up and about promoting her Telugu debut film, Sita Ramam at events in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag, Chennai and Kochi. Mrunal paired up with fashion stylist Archa Mehta to spin off a series of engaging ethnic vibes – from saree, lehenga, ghararas to kurta sets from some of the most sought-after homegrown labels and designers.

Ivory brilliance – Mrunal Thakur for Sita Ramam

It was an ivory saree by Torani featuring a scalloped border paired with an embroidered blouse. Delicate studs by Amrapali, a sleek hairdo and minimal glam accompanied.

Printastic fantastic

An Anita Dongre yellow-toned geometric printed saree worth Rs.16,900 was teamed with a sleeveless v-neck blouse, embellished sandals, statement earrings from Amrapali, subtle makeup and textured waves.

Silken delight – Mrunal Thakur for Sita Ramam

Mrunal wore a Varanasi silk brocade kurta from Raw Mango featuring an all-over jaal of swaying palm trees amidst a grid of blooming flora with gold tissue and hand-embroidered pearl detailing. A dainty choker, a braided hairdo, accentuated eyes and strong eyebrows coupled with nude lips completed her look.

Beige brilliance

One promotional look featured a Paulmi and Harsh beige leheriya print kurta set worth Rs.26,800. The set comprised of a hand–embroidered anarkali and dupatta embellished with mirrors, dabka work, zari, cut dana, sequins and moti. She finished out the look with jewellery by Amrapali, a half-braided hairdo and subtle glam.

Bewitching in black – Mrunal Thakur for Sita Ramam

It was a black silk jumpsuit with a brocade panel worth Rs. 38,500 by Payal Khandwala. Strappy ivory heels, jewellery by Bridalaya, bright burgundy toned lips, strong eyebrows, and centre-parted textured wavy hair upped the chic ethnic vibe.

Saree chic – Mrunal Thakur for Sita Ramam

Mrunal draped a Kshitij Jalori ruby-toned floral printed silk satin crepe saree worth Rs.27,800 and teamed it with a white sleeveless blouse. A ruby and pearl choker with earrings by Krishna Jewellers, and a slick updo adorned with roses along with red lips completed her look.

Sita Ramam, a Telugu period romantic drama film written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi features Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna and Sumanth in pivotal roles. The film is set in 1964 chronicling Lieutenant Ram, an orphan army officer serving at the Kashmir border. On receiving anonymous love letters from Sita Mahalakshmi, Ram embarks on a mission to find Sita and propose his love. Sita Ramam was released theatrically on 5 August 2022. The film garnered critical and commercial acclaim, grossing over ₹70 crores at the box office. The Hindi dubbed version of the film was released on 2 September in theatres.
