They say that fashion is like eating – you shouldn’t stick to the same menu. This is why reinventing and recreating herself by adding a little bit of edge to her everyday style was Sanya Malhotra. And if you’re wondering for what? Then it was all for the promotions of her upcoming Netflix offering, Kathal. The mood board was hot girl summer and Sanya charmed. She had enlisted the styling precision of Meagan Concessio. Together the duo mixed street chic staples with some fearless pieces. Then, they also opted for some muted pieces. The result was a modern yet edgy style aesthetic. But how did they do it so effortlessly?  It was all about the right details.

Our favourite Dangal girl swears by the sporty chic aesthetic as her go-to. But she mixed things up a bit with her signature spunk. Meanwhile, the glam game that accompanied these styles was subtle yet strong. Her glam was helmed by hair and makeup artist Natasha Mathias. Her images were lensed by photographer Mohit Varu. Pantsuit chic – Sanya Malhotra 

Sanya took to power dressing with separates from the homegrown label, Staple. The set featured high waist pleated pants with turned-down waist flaps  (Rs.2,799), a cropped two-buttoned waistcoat (Rs.2,999) and an oversized blazer (Rs.3,499). 

Pretty in Pink

It was a tuberose pink organza balloon dress with a front bow tie-up halter neck & pleated details. The dress by Sonam Parmar Jhavar retails at Rs.12,900. She finished the look with a pair of studs, a statement ring, nude glam and a curly updo. This look was styled by Shreeja Rajgopal.

Dressy Chic –Sanya Malhotra

Sanya wore a front cut-out dress by Lovebirds Studio. Worth Rs.16,900, the dress featured a fit and flare silhouette with tier detailing. She upped the look with jewellery by Wild Child, white boots, and her curls bunched up in a loose romantic pin-up. Her glam featured blue-black winged eyes, fresh skin, and naturally pink lips.

Neutral agreement

Sanya paired Zara separates featuring a bustier (Rs.4,990) and an asymmetric high-waist midi skirt (Rs.4,990). She completed this look with delicate baubles from Axesouár, strappy heels, signature curls and nude glam.

Edgy Chic – Sanya Malhotra

Sanya paired Dhruv Kapoor separates featuring a high-neck floral crop top and baggy cargo jeans worth Rs.22,500. She completed the look with jewellery by Pipa Bella, signature curls and nude glam.

Pop of Colour

Sanya paired a red-toned satin corset top featuring an abstract print from the homegrown label, Joskai Studio. The top retailing for Rs.7,200 also features structured poker sleeves and a lapel collar. Wide-leg faded blue denim and pink pointy toes, delicate baubles upped the look. She completed the look with dewy glam and a slick updo.

Kathal is a social comedy-drama film written by Ashok Mishra and directed by Yashowardhan Mishra for Netflix. The film features Sanya Malhotra, Anant V Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Brijendra Kala and Neha Saraf in lead roles. It is scheduled to be released on 19 May 2023 on Netflix.
