She catapulted to fame with Raju Hirani’s biopic Sanju back in 2018 and has now proved her mettle, once again with Netflix’s courtroom drama, Scoop. It follows the real-life story of Jigna Vora who was accused of the murder of mid-day reporter Jyotirmoy Dey in June 2011. Courting bouquets for her brilliant portrayal and exceptional on-screen prowess, Karishma Tanna upped the ante on the promotional front as well. Scoop is a courtroom drama series created and directed by Hansal Mehta and Mrunmayee Lagoo Waikul for Netflix India. The series is based on Jigna Vora’s biographical memoir Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison. Alongside Karishma Tanna, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Harman Baweja, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Deven Bhojani essay pivotal roles. It was released on 2 June 2023 on Netflix.
