Her poise, self-assurance, and coy girl-next-door energy have always been a delight. Within a short span of time, Manushi Chhillar has crafted a fine fashion arsenal. Last week, she debuted at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival in association with Walkers & Co. And she wooed maximally with her minimal and modern style. The mood board for this debut was ultra-chic feminine. Feminine styles can be characterized by tulle, ruffles, lace, ruffles, airy pastel color palettes, florals, and all that beautiful stuff. Feminine style is also all about the fit with accentuation of the waist, decolletage, shoulders, or legs. Manushi brought out these in full force with the spring weather of the French Riviera being in perfect sync.

Her signature style prevails despite the trend of the moment. Her stylist of many years, Sheefa Gilani has grasped Manushi’s penchant to look timelessly luxe in every circumstance. Together, the duo plays dress up touching upon humble homegrown labels and international ones with equal fervor. Whiteout – Manushi Chhillar in Fovari

It was an exquisitely draped snow-white gown from their Spring/Summer 23 collection. It was delicately draped featuring 100 layers of Italian silk tulle painstakingly pleated by hand. A total of 800 manual hours went into this creation. The label by Yara Shoemaker with its ethical sourcing and luxury-focused sensibilities is known for its feminine yet strong and artful yet wearable creations. Manushi’s gown paid homage to the Himalayas and the masterful draping mimicked the rolling slopes of mountain tops. Jewellery by Renu Oberoi and heels by Sophia Webster upped the look. A befitting minimal glam of nude lips, strong eyebrows, and mildly blushed cheeks accompanied. She completed the look with a dimpled smile and center-parted soft wavy hair.

All that glittered in black – Manushi Chhillar in Saiid Kobeisy

For the official minister’s dinner party, Manushi wore a black creation from the UAE-based label. It was a strapless tulle dress in the jet black shade and beaded with gold sequins. She upped the look with dainty earrings by Obari, and metallic pumps by Christian Louboutin. She completed the look with minimal glam and center-parted soft wavy hair.

Summer dreams – Manushi Chhillar in Gauri and Nainika

It was a criss-cross tube-draped cutout gown worth Rs.175,000 from the designer’s Spring Summer 2023 collection. The gown featured nude floating peonies on a printed net. She upped the look with a hand stack and rings from Tula, vintage Givenchy earrings from Viange, and sunglasses by Prada. Again, a nude glam and a half updo accompanied.

Extra Sparkly – Manushi Chhillar in Studio Moonray

Manushi slipped into a black crochet moonstone dress worth Rs. 42,000 embellished with natural semi-precious stones. A Gucci handbag, black pumps, sleek hair, and subtle glam completed her look.

Effortlessly Cool – Manushi Chhillar in Galvan London

For the India Pavilion soirée, Manushi chose a classic satin slip dress in the shade lagoon blue worth £1,295 (appx. Rs.1,33,327). She upped the look with vintage Chanel earrings by Viange. She carried a Chloe handmade handbag made of gold-toned brass, faux pearls, and crystals from Rosantica worth € 921 (appx. Rs. 82,412). Heels by Giuseppe Zanotti were a worthy addition. A slick updo and nude glam featuring bold smokey eyes completed the look.

Fierce in Florals – Manushi Chhillar in Nedo by Nedret Taciroglu

The last look on the red carpet featured a patchwork baby blue gown in tulle with 3D floral detailing. The gown from the Spring Summer 2023 collection was complimented with gold jewellery by Tula and golden stilettos by Giuseppe Zanotti. She finished the look with center-parted sleek hair and minimal glam.

Casual Chic – Manushi Chhillar in Mixed Gals and Fendi

Flaunting her new haircut, Manushi was seen in a black corset top from Mixed Gals worth $169 (appx. Rs.13,997). She had paired it with wide-leg light beige pants from Fendi, Valentino pumps, and a Fendi bag. Soft wavy hair and nude glam accompanied.

We love how Manushi Chhillar’s apparent rapture of finding a cohesive arsenal with this debut at the Cannes De Festival reflects well in the images. Also, it was in sync with her unique personal style expression along with all things polished, perfect, and understated.
